Terms of Service

Effective July 13, 2026

1. Scope

These Terms of Service govern instructor-led training, consultation, lab exercises, course materials, and related services offered by Beaconline Institute LLC, 411 N Harrington Street, Suite 260, Raleigh, NC 27603. A course order, statement of work, or enrollment confirmation may add terms for a particular engagement. If those written terms conflict with these terms, the specific written terms control for that engagement.

2. The services

Beaconline provides practical education in systems, network, and cybersecurity administration. Sessions may be held in person, remotely, or in a blended format. Course pages and consultation discussions describe a planned curriculum, not an employment placement service, professional certification guarantee, security audit, managed service, or legal compliance opinion. Learners are responsible for applying training with judgment in their own environment.

Schedules, instructors, and lab scenarios may change when reasonable due to availability, safety, or technical needs. We will make reasonable efforts to give notice of a material change and, when appropriate, offer an equivalent session or credit. A course can be challenging. Completion depends on participation and is not guaranteed merely by enrollment.

3. Enrollment, fees, and cancellation

Fees, payment timing, cohort size, and cancellation terms are stated in the applicable enrollment notice, invoice, or proposal. Unless a written agreement says otherwise, payment is due within 15 days of invoice. Amounts are in U.S. dollars and do not include taxes that the customer is legally required to pay. Late amounts may accrue a reasonable service charge where permitted by law.

An individual learner may request a transfer to another scheduled cohort at least seven calendar days before the start date, subject to seat availability. A customer that cancels a private cohort after Beaconline has begun custom preparation may be responsible for documented preparation time. Beaconline may suspend access to course materials or sessions for overdue undisputed fees after reasonable notice.

4. Learner responsibilities

You must provide accurate enrollment information, protect access credentials for any learning environment, and follow reasonable instructor and facility rules. You may not use a Beaconline lab to target systems you do not own or have clear permission to test. You may not copy, resell, publicly post, reverse engineer, or share course materials outside your authorized team without written permission. Harassment, disruption, or unsafe activity can result in removal from a session without refund where allowed by law.

Bring questions. Challenge an assumption. Still, do not treat a classroom scenario as authorization to make production changes. The real-world impact of a change remains the responsibility of the person or organization making it.

5. Intellectual property and customer material

Beaconline retains ownership of its teaching methods, lab designs, site content, worksheets, visual identity, and course materials. Subject to payment and these terms, enrolled learners receive a limited, non-transferable right to use provided materials for their own learning and internal workplace reference. You retain ownership of information you provide. You grant Beaconline permission to use it only as needed to provide the requested service and administer the relationship.

6. Confidentiality and privacy

Each party will use reasonable care with nonpublic business information received from the other and will use it only for the training relationship. This obligation does not cover information that was already public, independently developed, lawfully received from another source, or required to be disclosed by law. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Disclaimers and limits

Training is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. Beaconline makes no promise that a course will result in a job, promotion, credential, security outcome, or any particular business result. Labs and examples are educational simulations. They do not replace professional review of a production environment.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Beaconline will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, lost profits, lost data, business interruption, or costs of substitute services arising from the services. Beaconline’s total liability for a claim related to a service will not exceed the fees paid to Beaconline for that service during the six months before the event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow all limits, so a limit may not apply to you.

8. Ending the relationship

Either party may end an ongoing engagement for material breach if the breach is not corrected within 15 days after written notice. Beaconline may end or pause service immediately for illegal use, a serious safety issue, or nonpayment of undisputed amounts after notice. Sections on payment, intellectual property, confidentiality, liability, governing law, and other provisions that should survive will remain in effect after termination.

9. Governing law and disputes

North Carolina law governs these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Before filing a claim, the parties will try in good faith to resolve the issue through a written notice and a discussion between authorized representatives. If no resolution is reached within 30 days, exclusive venue for a claim will be in the state or federal courts located in Wake County, North Carolina, unless applicable law requires another forum. Nothing here prevents either party from seeking urgent equitable relief for misuse of confidential information or intellectual property.

10. General terms and contact

These terms and applicable written enrollment documents form the entire agreement on their subject. A waiver must be in writing. If one provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. You may not assign these terms without our written consent; Beaconline may assign them in connection with a merger, reorganization, or transfer of substantially all relevant assets.
